WEST CHESTER COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL
Hello WCCNS families! My name is Lisa Cortez and I am delighted to be returning for my third year of teaching at the co-op.
My husband, Ben, and I have been married for 14 years, and have called Ohio home since 2014. We have three children, Mari (11), Jack (9) and Oliver (7). Oliver is an alumnus of the 3’s and 4’s classes. Outside of school, we can easily be found wherever books are located, as well as in parks or in the kitchen trying out some new recipes.
I have always had a passion for teaching and I definitely have a bit of wanderlust. I began my Bachelor of Education at Ball State University, spent a year studying in the United Kingdom, and then completed my degree in Special Education at Purdue
University. After spending 8+ years teaching in public schools around the country, I was able to stay home with my children until they were all school-aged and the perfect opportunity to teach again came along.
We have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the WCCNS family for the past four years
and I am eager to get back in the classroom and embark on a fun-filled year of learning
experiences with you!
Hello! My name is Leah Sharpshair and I am super excited to be teaching the Toddler's Class! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you.
My husband, Michael, and I have been married for almost 29 years and have 7 children. All seven of my children have attended WCCNS and now I have the amazing opportunity to continue working with students and families in a place I truly love. Five of my seven kiddos were in the Toddlers class, so I have a good feel for the classroom and am looking forward to implementing a
lot of new activities. My granddaughters, Kallie & Emma, will be in the 4’s & 2’s class this year, continuing in their mama's footsteps, and I am excited another generation will be at WCCNS.
I am looking forward to helping each of the children learn and grow and be successful, while having lots of fun in the classroom. I want nothing more than to see your child excited about spending the morning with Mrs. Leah and having their first experience at preschool an awesome beginning in their education.
Hello! My name is Stacy Strousse, and I’m so excited to be teaching the five’s class. I can’t wait to meet all of my amazing students. Teaching is my passion, and watching my students learn and grow throughout the year is the most rewarding part of being a teacher.
I have a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam (Potsdam, NY), and I’m currently a piano teacher at The Cincinnati School of Music in Mason. My 25+ years of
teaching experience includes both preschool and school-aged children, as well as children with special needs.
My husband, Justin, and I have lived in Mason for 20 years. We have two amazing daughters – Amelia, 14, and Lydia, 12, along with our two goofy Boxers, Dozer and Bubbles.
I’m looking forward to spending my mornings with you, building wonderful memories along the way!
